The Good Old Days, There Back

Many people will have watched the game at anfield on the weekend and would have recalled the pass and move football liverpool use to play back in the good old days, with swift flowing movement, on and  off the ball.
well i believe that this is really going to be a huge turn in the fortunes of liverpool football club.

with new owners in place and really starting to make their claim to what they would like to achieve in the next few years, these really are exciting times for the red side of the mersey.

Judas packed his bags and left and many reds feared the worst, as our team that only had 1 prolific stricker in the ranks, had now jumped ship (to a sinking ship may i add).  But that left liverpool with a cool 50M ontop of the 50M that John Henry said he would stump up for the january transfer window.  So kenny and the team set to work and brought in 2 brilliant players in Luis Suarez and 'The Beast From The North East' Andy Carroll, Two players who can make a huge impact at the club.

Luis Suarez has had a few games in the red of liverpool and made a perfect start with a goal after 16 minutes in his debut, but i feel Suarez has contributed more to liverpool football club in 3 games than To**es did in his last 18 months!
Suarez on the whole is a much more complete player than fernando. Luis will come and find the ball and play it off and then look for space, where as To**es wouldnt come to the ball, he would wait and if the ball didnt come, he would throw a strop rather than help the team retrieve possession back.
And also we have Andy Carroll, a player who has already torn liverpool to shreds once this season, including a wonder strike past Pepe reina.

in the half hour that we saw andy mix it up with luis suarez i noticed that they had very good interplay, and when the ball was played long to carroll, luis would make sharp little runs off the big man to try and pick up the scraps, which he did very well.

Back to the money now

Suarez = 22M
Carroll = 35M
Total = 57M
which is all the money from judas spent, and only 7M of the 50M that John W Henry said he would put forward, so come summer, we should still have around 43M plus whatever Mr Henry will stump up again.

so all in all these are really exciting times for the club, we can continue to push for 4th this season, and i believe we could get there if results go our way and we continue to play as we did in the first half against manchester united, then we can have a really strong end to the season... and maybe just maybe we can push for the premier league title next season

scousers slip with stoke shambles

Thanks Mr. Hodgson

after a terrible display at the Britania stadium liverpool fans are really starting to wonder if things could get any worse, from hero's to zero's in the space of a week.

hero's

Stoke's Ricardo Fuller
zero's

The proformance against stoke was the worst game of football i have seen this season, there was no desire in any of the players to win the game or even to show that they care for the club.

investment

NESV must invest big if liverpool are ever to compete in the big time again. But first liverpool football club need to shift the dead wood or the club will be stuck in this spiral towords the foot of the table.
players like Konchesky, Skrtle, johnson, poulsen, cole, maxi, jovanovic and bable
They are not players who have showed talent and potential, and they need to be moved on rather than hold the club back.
But this year players like Lucas and N'gog have really come of age, lucas has showed he can play football and has matured as a footballer, and also david N'gog has showed he can find the back of the net.
liverpool need to take a big step forward if they are ever to play in the champions league again let alone win their 19th league title.

will NESV put money in, only time will tell.
fingers crossed

Liverpool Vs. Napoli Preview

As Napoli make the trip over to anfield, we ask ourselves what sort of side Mr. Hodgson will put out. So far in the europa league Roy has played a second rate side, with lots of players from the reserves and the occasional bench warmer (Ryan Babel). But the Liverpool manager has said he will field a strong team, even if it risks more injurys to key players.

liverpool will be without Joe Cole (hamstring), Dirk Kuyt (ankle) and Daniel Agger (calf). Also Sotirios Kyrgiakos was pulled out of training after complaining of a groin problem, the reds fans will have to wait and see if he will feature in the game, after showing what he can do in recent games.

A player who has really impressed this term is David N'gog, who is liverpools top scorer this season in all competitions with 7 goals.
David will be looking to get some time on the pitch in tomorrows game and hope to add to his already impressive tally.

The Group

Liverpool currently top group K with 5 points, and Napoli are just behind in 2nd place with 3 points.
FC Utrecht and Steaua Bucharest are 3rd and 4th respectivly with 3 and 2 points. So if results go liverpools way and they get the 3 points at Anfield and the other game ends up a draw, Liverpool could go 4 points clear of the group with 2 games to play.
